Has anyone tried tandem/combined IVF, I’m considering a few clinics in Cyprus who offer. They have given me a 2-10% chance with own eggs and recommend egg donor but as I still want to have a go with own eggs suggest tandem where they prepare a donor just in case my eggs are no good.
Hey Connie, I didn’t even realise you could do this! I too had treatment in Cyprus... but with a less that 2% chance of own eggs working which actually moved to less than 1% it was straight to donor. I think if I’d have had this chance 4 years ago; right at the beginning of treatment... when I just wanted to see if my own eggs would work but have back up and security of donor eggs I’d have jumped at the chance. It is tempting to go for donor especially with the extra cost. But I will give my eggs one more try.
It’s a great idea!! Go for it!! I have tried this and infact gone ahead with 2 cycles. I thought donor eggs would be easier but I found my own 43 yr old eggs more productive and successful xxx
Hi Connie im strongly considering tandem cycle too in Cyprus. Ive been sent the prices though and they are very expensive when we were led to believe they were cheaper than UK. I will basically be wiping out all my savings and have to borrow money on top too. It has a success rate of 80% in Cyprus which is fab but i will have massive debt afterwards. I am going to spend Sunday researching my options xx

I hear you. I am in the same position. Although UK isn’t really an option for donor for me as no black donors unless it’s someone you know.
Which clinic are you going with if you don’t mind me asking?
