Ideas for ways to switch off/make the waiting more bearable...? 😃

Hi everyone

Hope you’re all well.

Am in the 2 week wait on second cycle of Clomid for polycystic ovaries. Don’t want to feel too hopeful as BFNs are so disappointing (and I’ve had way too many for my liking!) but trying to keep positive on the other hand! My brain is so full of everything that comes with TTC and I wish I could switch off from thinking about it but it’s hard when there seem to be pregnant mums everywhere/pregnancy announcements on Facebook etc. Am sick of always waiting for something (next test, period etc) and already worried my husband will be away with work when we will need to be trying next cycle if this one fails. Spend too much time Googling things which I have no control over anyway!

I have read posts from other ladies doing brilliant things like upping their exercise and eating more healthily but I am finding this hard, not really exercising at all and making bad food choices, life is busy and the TTC is hard...

Anyone else in the same position or has any tips for me? 😃

It’s so hard to patient and not stress and over think during the 2ww, you just want test day to be here already!!! It’s not the time to exercise and over exert yourself! Just try to relax but keep mentally stimulated. Get into a fab book, try some calming/positive thinking apps/ you tube videos. Meet friends for lunch etc. Try to think positively and take each step as it comes, focus on this cycle and that it will work 🤞🏼 good luck xxx

Hi Star15,

I totally understand what you are going through, I am in the same position. What helps me (and a friend of mine) is not having pregnancy tests at home. Either you bleed or you are pregnant. Pregnancy tests are stressing and you alsways want to use it too early what makes everything more stressful. For all the other things, you just have to fimd a way how to deal with it. Everyone is different! Some people do sports, some cook....Find something that you like doing and that is distracting. I know it sounds easier as it is, it took me 1 year to.come to this point, but although I hate these coments myself, It is true that the morr stressed you are the less likely it is to happen. And I started talking about it, even with people that are not my close friends, this also helps me.

Good luck!

Hey star15! I understand that it is hard to wait for two weeks. Especially if you have little hope. What I did each time was not think about it too much. I know its hard. But hear me out. I used to set up phone reminders about different things that needed to be done. Like, if I had to do laundary. I will organize my clothes in perfect folds after laundry. If I have to make dinner, I will try something new everytime. Doing new stuff takes a lot of mindfulness. It'll save you from passively drifting into your gloomy thoughts. Try doing something new. It helped me a lot. It'll help you too. Good luck. Sending baby dust your way.
