Only 6 follicles

So had my second scan today. Only 6 follicles found. Nurse said that’s not a bad thing. They good quality but it just doesn’t seem a high number to me. I hear stories of women with 30, 40, 50.

How many did you all have? Any advice?

Hello, 6 follies is fine!! I had about 13 by EC and they only liked the look of 9. I managed 6 eggs. Keep positive, rather small amount than having too many. My clinic say any more than 20 is OHSS so wish for too many. You still have a few days for more to grow, I only had a few on second scan and they kept me going for an extra week to help them grow bigger. Do you know their size? xx

Try not to be disheartened, hoping you’ll have good quality eggs in those follicles come collection time x

I had 8 follicles. One ovary did not respond to the treatment at all. They got 7 eggs on collection day, all of which fertilised and I am now 14 weeks pregnant!

It is soooo hard not to get caught up in all the numbers. I remember leaving the hospital after the scan and thinking it was all over but please, please, remain positive. It really is quality, not quantity! Good luck 😉

Hi there, 6 follicles are not a bad number trust me. I had only 4 in my first cycle. After 1 FET the remaining got arrested and had to be discarded. You're not alone and a lot of people do have success with fewer eggs as well - all it takes is 1 egg at the end. Have hope and faith, you might get a BFP and a full term out of first FET... I'll pray for it. Sending baby dust!

6 is great! I had 4 follicles which contained 4 eggs. 3 of them fertilised but then one stopped developing, leaving us with 2 day-5 blastocysts. I'm now pregnant! Quality over quantity
