There has been a lot of reflection and things that have come up that you would never realise have affected you but it has been a good process for us. You find out who your real support network will be!!

aww fantastic xx

Congratulations!! I hope you find a match very soon 😊

We went to the information meeting back in May but wanted to try one final round of IVF before continuing. It seems so daunting the adoption process, have you found it stressful? Xxx

Not so much stressful but frustrating at times! You question why they want to know so much but the more information you give and honest you are can make it easier!

Thank you for the advice, I just worry that they’ll look at us and say we won’t be suitable when we believe we will be amazing parents. Looking forward to hearing your updates xxx

Amazing amazing news!!

Congratulations Wifey90! My hubby and I also want to adopt after numerous rounds of ivf and just not feeling able to do any more, adoption feels more hopeful and like you we’ve also been thinking that there’s a child out there who is meant to be ours. We’ve been having a break from all things fertility/family for a few months and having work done on our house but we’re going to get the ball rolling next year. Exciting and scary in equal measure at the moment!

How have you found the process? Xx

It takes a lot to come to the decision but I know it will be worth it. Honestly the process itself isn’t all bad. There is a lot of self reflection and you will doubt yourself along the way because you are not sure you could cope with a child that has gone through trauma. But knowing our support network has been a blessing. Its not what everyone thinks that a social worker comes into your house to turn if upside down. Its the complete opposite. My bet advice is to always be honest...never lie about anything or try to hide anything! It will always work in your favour to be honest!! Good luck for when your journey starts!!

It really does doesn’t it, before our 4th ivf cycle we honestly thought we’d carry on if it didn’t work but then I had a chemical pregnancy and I was broken, just couldn’t put us through it any more. We’d felt positive about adoption for a while but then it seemed much more so for us becoming a family..I’ll admit we’ve had a few wobbles about it, mainly because of fear..of the unknown, of what a child might present with (and like you say, can we handle it) but then we realised we just needed time..we hadn’t given ourselves time to process what we’d been through, grieve etc.

So glad you’ve had a positive experience and thanks for the advice, I wish you all the very best for finding your lovely match. Merry Christmas xx
