NHS Maternity Pay

I work in the NHS and just looking at organising my maternity leave I know I have to return for at least 3 months afterwards but I was wondering if upon return I could work for a different NHS trust rather than returning to my old job? I currently work in Manchester but live in the midlands and ideally would like to get a job closer to home. I’ve already looked on the intranet at work and it does say I’m entitled to the leave as long as I return to either the same trust or any nhs employer just wondered if anyone had experience of this?

Have you looked at the agenda for change policy? That should let you know. X

The individual trust policies are usually written as per agenda for change. I haven’t had any experience unfortunately and I intend to return to my original post so I’m not much help. I know a friend of mine who works for a different trust had real problems with her employer because certain things weren’t in their maternity policy. She kept reverting to agenda for change and fought it that the trust didn’t supply enough information for her to make an informed decision and she finally won her case. Xx
