Which wolf are you feeding?

One of the podcast hosts I listen to often tells this story and I thought I'd share it here because I find it powerful.

Two Wolves is a Cherokee Indian legend and illustrates the most important battle of our lives – the one between our good and bad thoughts. Here is how the story goes:

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.

“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.

The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

I think most of us have been feeding the wrong one.....but occasionally, the other gets a titbit!

Lovely words, I think sometimes we feed both and often the one that begs feeding more than the other.. I’ve robbed this for my instagram I hope you don’t mind?

No that's fine! I took it from Dr Maria Rothenburger who had a podcast called Miracles Happen and it's an Cherokee Indian legend so I think it's fair game for spreading 😊

I feed the wrong one too but recognizing it is the first step and when you catch yourself you can then start feeding the good one 😊
