DE consultation done 😊

So as the title says armed with a huge folder of all my previous medicals notes we had out first DE consultation today and hello private world, how different and thorough you are!

Eventually after me asking various consultants over the last few years we were told today from looking at all the results from each of my past EC's that our issue is prob sperm quality mixed with my ageing eggs. So many people have told me along our journey it will always been an Egg issue, but with my husbands medical history and all the drugs he has been on most of his life I've always known deep down it would also be sperm related. Apparently young eggs can help repair damaged sperm but older eggs find it harder to do this. So still a good chance DE will work for us. Now just got to wait for the results of sperm comet test to confirm how much of the DNA is damaged in the sperm. Just makes me sad these tests aren't available on the NHS as could have saved a lot of heart ache over the years. But least we now have the new ball rolling 😊

We found him very thorough, doesn't rush you and doesn't do the hard sell just gives you all his thoughts and info and leaves it up to you. How nice is the clinic aswell xx

Ahhh a lady after my own heart with the organisation in a folder! We are due to persue DE in the forthcoming weeks, haven't zeroed in on U.K. or Europe yet mind! I wish you so much luck for your DE cycle 😘😘😘My husband had sperm DNA fragmentation tests as part of miscarriage testing (after two failed cycles were then going to be self funded and paid for all the tests under the sun to cover all bases!) turns out it was me and my eggos 🙊

Haha! The consultant asked if he could keep my folder to have a good read through which amazed me! I could just picture him getting the folder out as bed time reading 😂 but def the type of service I've wanted for so long! I wish we'd had the sperm comet test before now, but thought at the time there was no point as the outcome is to use icsi anyway if badly damaged, but see what happens.

Howdy! I live in the south west and am currently looking into all the different clinics, UK and abroad just to find a right fit for us, looking forward to getting going to be honest. It's been a long time coming!

It's exciting I am considering the donor egg too I have to have scans and test have had abnormal bleeding will see what tests say xxxx
