Feeling exhausted 2 days after EC

My EC was Thursday. I rested well yesterday, haven't had any significant cramping since, but I am super tired today. I did wake at 7am but this is a feeling of exhaustion not lack of sleep. I did some housework this morning and had to lie down after it. Feeling drained. Need to go out for a couple of things this afternoon but just can't summon the energy. Is this normal? I don't remember feeling like this the previous 2 times xx

  • All the best. Everything crossed for you x

  • I have no idea if it's normal but I'm feeling the same way. It's my birthday tomorrow and I've just cancelled all my plans because I feel so lethargic. I put it down to the emotions.

Be kind to yourself, rest up and really hope you feel brighter in a day or two. Xx

  • Oh no on your birthday! Well I think it must be expected then if both feeling the same way. I feel worse today than yesterday. Probably shouldn't have done housework but thought I'd feel better doing something (wanted to get things up to date so I can relax a couple of days after ET) and thought I'd be ok once I got started ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Hope it passes soon for us both.

Just realised it's your ET today isn't it?? xx

  • Hiya,

Not sure if this helps but I was exhausted for days after ec. I had it on the weds am and felt exhausted doing the tiniest thing and could barely walk due to the pain til the Sunday. ..I didnt call the clinic or question it as I thought that was normal until I heard of others being up and about the next day! I'm wondering now if I had mild ohss but I suppose now I'll never know.

    Hope you recover soon xx

  • I don't think it's OHSS I've got as only got 10/11 follicles with 1 egg. But does make me feel better knowing others have felt similar. Thank you for replying xx

  • You're welcome ๐Ÿ˜Š...its funny how, as soon as treatment is over you forget the pain and the side effects. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat! ๐Ÿ’•

  • Not sure I share your enthusiasm ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‰ xx

  • Me too I think it was the sedation ! X

  • If your not feeling physically unwell, maybe it's the comedown from all the tension over the last few week, it's emotionally draining! You mind can go ten to the dozen without even realising it... Maybe try a lovely bath with a lush bath bomb and milky drink like Horlicks (milk has a property in it that helps to induce sleep, apparently, what the truth is in that I don't know ๐Ÿ˜ด) ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜

  • Hiya.. Quite normal... Listen to your body and rest... Leave the housework.. And be gentle to yourself... This round I was extremely tired from day after ET. And never shock it off.. Because it was a, positive outcome.. And hopefully this means same for you.. I was shocked so soon after EC I felt so drained.. Fingers crossed for you.. Lots of love xxx

  • Congratulations Jaky76, hope you're doing well. Thanks for your reply xx

  • Hi, I felt like this after both my EC. I think it was the sedation / anaesthetic that has that effect. Also, your body has been working very hard over the last few week and needs a bit of rest, be nice with it ;)!! I was always very stressed until EC and the sedation then always forced me to calm down because it knocks you out for a bit - and I found I was tired and also calmer afterwards. Just taken it easy!! And good luck!!

  • Thank you. x
