Hello ladies! I have not written in 3 months as things were really up in the air and my husband and I were faced with some major decisions. I have never stopped reading the posts on here as you are all so compassionate and supportive of each other and seeing some fabulous BFP's lately has really made me smile.
I have been in counselling since November last year, as at the time the NHS signed me off, I sank to an all time low of crying everyday, having anxiety attacks and struggling to cope. The therapist has proved wonderful and I have made steady progress. She is not a fertility specialist by any means, but just having an objective ear has made a huge difference.
Anyhow, here is my update. After looking into local IVF clinics, we decided against having treatment here in the UK and after contacting 10 international clinics, chose one. We had to get all our testing redone and this has taken about 6 weeks. We had our first consultation with the Consultant 3.5 weeks ago.
The upshot is that we have booked a date (24th May) and selected a donor. I believe I will start with meds in March... I almost cannot believe that this is finally happening. I know that there are no guarantees in this life and that the treatment may fail, but I cannot contain the overwhelming sense of hope and excitement that is starting to take hold.
I will let you know how I get on, but we are hoping for smooth sailing and the chance of fulfilling a dream.

Hi CountryCat. Well that has all taken lots of time to sort out, and many decisions to make, but you've done it! Just wanted to wish well with your treatment cycle and safe travelling to the clinic. Hope all goes well and wish you every success. Thinking of you. Diane
Hi countrycat I'm so pleased you're all sorted and ready to start treatment soon! It's great that you have someone to talk to, it can really help put things into focus. Wishing you lots of luck for your treatment, keeping checking in with how you are doing. We're all right behind you x x x
Thanks a million for the reply, which really means a lot!
Come what may, at least I feel I am walking with confidence in the right direction xxx
Sorry to hear you had such a tough time but good to see that you've in a better place and your taking the next steps in your journey. My counsellor said to me that there are going to be points in everyones lives where they have to process and deal with pain and she said if you learn to deal with it now then you're already starting to create the necessary building blocks for the next episode in your life when it's an illness or losing someone as it's something we will all experience at somepoint in our lives. It basically means that you become a stronger person and better equipped with what lives throws at you, it looks like you've already come along in dealing with some of these issues, wishing you all the best I hope your dreams come true xxx
Hi Nmill, what a great insight your counsellor has...I have to agree. It is like armour-proofing yourself for the future, as much as that is possible. I have found that I have gained back the perspective that I had lost in this crazy process...that in itself is a great gift.
Thank you for the support and I wish you only the best xx
Thank you thats very lovely of you. I think it's so important to be in the right frame of mind (as much as we can be) to go through with treatment and im sure you feel in a much better place mentally to start treatment xxx
Button, I have followed your story for a while and have everything crossed for you!! I would be immensely grateful if you felt that there was anything you could share with me from your experience (private message).
What an exciting time it is for you, the build up to beginning another cycle is a great feeling 🙏🏼we wish you all the best with your donor and a smooth road ahead, you deserve this. It's your time after all the immense and great lengths you've gone to get to this moment in time. Roll on May! Positive vibes, happiness and Love ❤️ 🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮✨✨✨✨✨🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄✨✨✨✨✨
