Can anyone help
Hey when we were waiting for the egg collection on Wednesday, there was a couple. He had had a vasectomy 20 years ago. They managed to get sperm , had frozen it in may, shewas having the egg collection to implant in January.
He said they'd done a biopsy that it was lucky he was still producing sperm but not unusual. He was 48.
Hope this helps and gives some hope xx
My husband had one about 13 years ago and tried a reversal 2 years ago. It was successful for 6 weeks and the tubes scarred over. They performed a pesa (needle extracting sperm) for our cycle and the quality was apparently brilliant and we now have 10 straws frozen. Good Luck x
Hi Lizzy76.Obviously, as the others have said it is possible. However, I doubt a vasectomy reversal would be recommended as I feel your partner will have produced antibodies that would clump the sperm together and make them unable to swim properly. PESA/TESA could be an option followed by ICSI. Unfortunately, it is doubtful that any of this would be available on the NHS, and would be very expensive. However, never say never, as there is often a way forward. Good luck with whatever you do decide. Diane
Thank you to every one that's replied this is all very helpful xxx
