Fertilisation phone call update...

Hollibob profile image
11 Replies

I was dreading the phone call this morning..the longer I waited, the more I felt like our hope might be fading...

1 didn't fertilise

1 fertilised but hadn't completed properly and therefore can't be continued

1 fertilised and they want to transfer tomorrow as it's the only one to work with....

Has anyone else had success from a day 2 ICSI transfer?

Hi Hollibob,

Sorry it didn't go quite to plan, so frustrating! I had a 3 day transfer as they were our only 2 embryos that survived and they were not confident about them lasting, and they both stuck!! I know that's a day later than you, but don't loose hope!! You only need one!

Keeping everything crossed for you!!

Thanks Emma.

I guess it doesn't help that our last cycle we got to blastocyst and got pregnant...it just didn't quite go to plan long term..

I've got to keep everything crossed and get over my emotional negative blip!!

It only takes one xxxxx Positive thoughts for you both xxx

A nurse at the clinic we used told me if she were to have IVF she would want the fertilised egg to be transferred immediately as that is the best and most natural place for an embryo to develop and grow not a Petrie dish or tube as she can provide a more suitable environment than a lab.

So I think yes it can be successful. Good luck and fingers crossed for you 😀 x x x
