Fatigue

Hi all, I currently got my first ever positive which is amazing after the journey so far. Early days still at 5weeks 6days. However I've been under the weather a bit with inflamed sinuses and ear ache. I'm starting to get past that but throughout all of this I have just been absolutely knackered all the time. I've been going to bed earlier and been resting but am still shattered. Any advice for energy pick me ups? Could extra supplements help? I've been taking a multivitamin only.

Morning, congratulations! The only other supplements I would take is a probiotic, omega 3 and vitamin d3. It won't help with your tiredness directly but you can request your iron levels to be checked with your GP.

Thanks, I've bought some new vitamins and a probiotic. Yeah if the tiredness keeps up I'll mybe ask re iron levels.

The feeling will pass - you have been through a lot - treatment etc with all it's stresses and strains .It takes a lot out of you ! Make sure having good diet - keep taking folic acid till 12 weeks of pregnancy and rest when you can As 1st post said seeing GP about iron levels would be a good idea And congratulations also

Take care

hi, and congratulations! Fatigue was my main pregnancy symptom during the first trimester. I would get home from work feeling so ill as I was just so tired. I’d eat tea then have to go straight to bed each evening. I ended up having to take some time off and basically work part time for a few weeks as I just couldn’t cope with teaching a class of 4 year olds as I felt so exhausted all the time! The good news is, it does pass!! Since 12 weeks I’ve felt much more normal and now I’m 26 weeks and still have plenty of energy. My advice is just to hang in there and treat yourselves kindly, rest whenever you can and remember that your body is working so hard doing something amazing, you just can’t see it happening yet! The tiredness will pass, I promise!!

Congratulations! I always take the pregnacare whilst pregnant and then additional iron and vitamin D tablets. I have to have injections for my B12 every 3 months as I’m naturally low so might be worth checking your B12 levels xx

Thanks you! I have been takin pregnacare but have swapped to conceive which had higher vitamin levels. I didn't realise you could have vitamin injections when you are pregnant. something to consider if it keeps up.

Congratulations 🎉 I think it should pass! Middle part of pregnancy is the best part. Hope you feel better. Just rest!
