Overthinking

I know I must sound absolutely crazy and I’m overthinking to the max (going to blame the hormones) but I was watching a show and the baby was accidentally switched at birth 🫣 what are the steps when the baby is born? Do they take the baby in another room after the skin to skin contact etc? I was thinking of putting something on baby’s wrist when it’s born so I know!!! xx

Lol, I think I used to have the same fear prior to giving birth. I had 2 c-sections, in both cases, baby stayed with us in the operating room, while they were stitching me up. My husband was there cutting cord and taking pictures. They then immediately put the name band around the baby's foot together with some ankle monitor alarm, in case anyone tried to carry it out of the hospital. I remember telling my husband...."take a good look at the baby once they pull it out, to make sure we get the right one" but it turned out my fear was unnecessary.

Same as Marisa, my partner was there and our baby never left the room or his sight....

2 vaginal deliveries and babies never left my side from the moment they popped out to the moment I left the hospital. I was kept in with my first and left the evening after my second. They also had ankle bands on shortly after birth by midwife xx

Hi Aurora. Oh dear, I think every woman has this fear. Your husband/partner is there with you, so will be taking photos. Baby has a name band, usually around the foot, plus an alarm, so no one can carry the baby away. Rest assured, you will have the correct baby, so stop worrying! Hope all goes well. Diane
