I read that swimming is allowed in early pregnancy, just to avoid it during the 2ww, each clinic is different though I suppose.

Swimming is allowed in early pregnancy but I avoided for 1st trimester until 12 weeks. This is because I was taking pessaries until 12 weeks which irritate the cervix and increase risk of infection. I didn’t want to risk anything

It is fine to go swimming in early pregnancy but as someone else has mentioned about irritation. I had spotting at 5 weeks and it went away. Went swimming at 7 weeks and it came back that evening. Nurse put it down to irritation and I was taking pessaries at the time. Everything was fine. At 14 weeks I started aquantal as it was calmer than swimming but still got me in the pool.
