Day 3 vs Day 5 transfer? Natural vs Medicated FET? Advice needed!

I have have completed my first cycle of IVF and only have two frozen embryos- one Day 3 and one Day 6. I need to decide whether to transfer the better quality Day 3 embryo or wait to see if it develops into a blastocyst after thawing. As I only have two embryos I am unsure what is best. Has anyone experienced a similar situation and advise me at all? Also, I am unsure whether natural or medicated FET is best and would appreciated your input. Thank you

Hi JLo, I’m in a similar boat as you right now, I have 3 embryos frozen, we’ve decided to go with day 5 one for FET to give ourselves a better chance of success. I need to decide whether to do medicated FET or natural. The clinic recommends natural because my lining in the past has been decent- 12mm triple layer but I’m thinking I don’t want to risk it. I’ve read that the lining can change each cycle, and with the amount I bled in the last failed IVF cycle, I very much doubt I have much lining left! That’s my thoughts at the moment but I also welcome advice from anyone here too. Medicated will be more expensive with the meds etc but it may give me the best chance of success hopefully…

Thank you for your reply. I need to have another discussion with the doctor about what they’d recommend for me. They haven't given specific advice and have just states the two options. I think they will say medicated but I don’t want more meds if I don’t need to. So many decisions and I’m doing this by myself so feels even more overwhelming! Good luck with everything x

Gosh, on your own. You’re so strong. The doctors will know what’s best so definitely ask. As I’ve had 2 failed fresh transfers previously, they’re doing some extra tests to see if there’s any other issues that will need fixing before my FET. Best of luck x
