Hey guys

I’m just starting out on my private ivf journey and Iv decided to do 3 cycle package with PGT testing with my history of recurrent miscarriage . I was just wondering if anyone could help me understand the timescales . With 3 cycles do they usually do them back to back … ? So I’d have egg retrieval’s every month for 3 months ? And then if successful you would transfer month 4 or 5?

Any info or advice is much appreciated as I literally know no one who has gone through IVF so feels such a lonely journey and Iv not even started yet ❤️❤️

I recently did a 3 cycle package of embryo banking and it was more or less every other month. I was on a short protocol. So my cycle looked like this, Baseline scan, period, stimulations, scans, egg collection, withdrawal bleed

Baseline scan the following month, period, stimulation etc

I started my first cycle in January and completed my third and final cycle in May. My clinic allows you to spread it out more if you so wish but due to my age, I wanted it done quickly. You can choose when to have a FET.

I can’t advice on PGT testing I’m afraid as I never did that. I think it adds some significant time to the timescales but worth checking this out with your clinic.

All the best 🙏🏾

Hello, I did 2 sessions and unfortunately they did not retrieve eggs back to back. It happened every other month to give my body time to have any cyst remove themselves So with 2 sessions, I started off with a month of hormones in June, first egg retrieval in mid July, 2nd in September, PGS testing end of September and results about 2 weeks later but since some results were inconclusive in the tests, we had those retested and I was finally implanted in mid November. In total, 5.5 months for 2 cycles, therefore, I can see 3 cycles going about 7.5 months with testing included.

I'll be honest, the hormone injections were easy for me, but the daily progesterone shots by week 4 were extremely tough to get through and painful the majority of the time. I had to take the shot daily for 12 weeks, but well worth it as I am currently 33 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl!! Super happy and excited!!

Good luck on your journey and please feel free to reach out if you need anything.

I'm sorry to hear this, hun. Trying to stay positive is so hard. 2 miscarriages felt like possible “bad luck” (My previous doctor so coldly put it.) But 3 is an “issue”. It’s recurrent loss. And it was what I thought about day and night. My body was failing me. As a woman I felt that I’d failed at the one thing my body should be able to do. And I let my husband down as well. This is such a difficult thing to wrap mind around! That rant was my irrational, emotional brain speaking though. I needed to keep that in check and just stay positive because I still had a lot to be thankful for. I have a supportive and loving husband and just the mere fact that I had some good eggs to conceive was something to be thankful for.. So just had to stay positive. I was so hoping that next stage, with our new doctor at BTC, would be a success. And it was!

Hoping for you.
