I have just received a letter from my hospital to say i can have a second attempt at IVF. My reaction shocked me. Instead of feeling relief i felt panic and i just don't want to go through all the pain, fear, stress and depression again. I feel my husband and i are back on track and enjoying life and the thought of IVF again just scares me so much. Has anyone else felt this way after a failed first attempt?

I understand what you feel atm. It's not necessary that you've got to have the second IVF just because the hospital has sent you mail for one. However, you need to reply them for sure. Hope you don't mind if I suggest you to calm down and decide if you want a baby once and for all. Your failed IVF is probably a sign that in case you change your mind in future things will be more stressful and you may require additional fertility assistance other than just IVF to get you pregnant. And meanwhile, the expenses won't get any cheaper either. So, take your decision wisely because even if not the last it is certainly an opportunity if you want to have a baby, if at all.
Thanks for your advice! I didnt reply until i felt sure. I definitely want to try as i feel if i dont i will never know if we could fall or not but this is the last go its a very difficult thing to experience xx
I totally understand your situation. Yes, it is very difficult, I know but good things do not come easy either. Don't lose hope just yet. Wish you all the luck in the world.
Oh I totally agree with you. Sometimes good things take so long to happen that maybe you're done chasing the good and quite happily settled with how things are. However, it's not any of our call... only the person who's supposed to go through all the medical procedures, emotional rollercoaster, mustering fear, losing hope should get to decide.
