How many weeks pregnant am I?

I’m trying to get my head around this...

I had my viability scan last Friday. All went well and saw a beautiful little heartbeat - it didn’t actually seem quite real! I should have been 6 weeks 2 days pregnant but the embryo was measure 5 weeks and 6 days. What does this mean for how many weeks pregnant you are? Do I follow the size of my baby or do I continue with date of period.

It’s all very confusing and Dr Google isn’t generating an answer. Xx

Hi Hope,Is this an IVF pregnancy for you? Do you know what your babies heartbeat was?

I think it is normal with ivf to be within 4 days of your due date (based on ovulation/last menstrual period etc).

The dating might change slightly between appointments also. So your dates are what your embryo is measuring essentially which can fluctuate within a range.

Im meant to be 7+3 today but my scan last week showed me about 1 day behind. Im not really having many symptoms either so it's hard to know how it's all going/progressing!
