Hi I am new to this just looking for someone’s help in how to cope with a cancelled cycle. Sadly I went for my scan to see how many follicles had grown and got the news that there were only 2 fully grown. Been given another two injections and to go back tomorrow for a scan but I know it’s going to be a cancelled cycle.

It’s heartbreaking but can anyone tell me how long they waited to start again? Am going through the nhs and been told when I start again they will put me on the highest dose which is 300 as they only had me on 150.

Hope someone can help xox

Hi there, oh I am so sorry to hear this. If it is that your cycle is abandoned you are undoubtedly going to be heartbroken, I really feel for you.

It's been 3 weeks since my cycle was also abandoned. We had 10 eggs collected which we very happy about but did not expect the call the next day of only 1 fertilizing which didnt end up being viable for transfer. We felt so devastated and it was never something we thought would even happen.

I was told that I would get a withdrawal bleed and then to wait for my next natural bleed before we can start again, but then it depends on the availability of our clinic. I would imagine a couple of months, to give yourself and your body time to recover so you feel ready to go again.

I really hope it's not what you expect and that you can carry on, sending big hugs to you, you arent alone xx 💗

That's a good idea, I was put on the hightest dosage and they ended up collecting 19 eggs (12 mature) think they leave it for two cycles approx so that your body us ready again. Keep strong, at least they have offered an alternative ♥️😊

Just like they say, don't count your chicks before they are hatched... there's no point in considering it as any negative just yet and succumbing to disappointments already. I haven't had a cancelled cycle but then failed attempt at IVF. Technically all it takes is just one viable embryo to get you through your pregnancy and gestation. You still have 2 mature follicles and you're still going for the scan again so there might be more by the time they choose to do the extractions. Even if that results in a single viable embryo you might just get lucky and happen to conceive. You never know when a miracle happens and all women who've had it just happens when you least expect it. To your next question, I'd say though it depends on the individual case and might differ from person to person it's best to wait for a cycle before they starts the stimms again. I hope you don't need it though and at least one of your eggs makes it all the way through.
