Hi, me and my husband have been trying for a baby for almost 3 years now, I have regular checkup within gynaecology every 3-6months at the hospital, the only thing they keep saying is that you need to loose weight, I’ve tried and tried, other than that they aren’t doin anything, it’s getting to a point where I’m fed up and depressed, is there anyone that can advise on what I should do? I feel as if they are not bothering as I’ve heard a lot of people have ivf Bute have never had to wait that long

IVF guideline procedure advice????
I'm not in the same boat. But my sister has pcos and some extra lbs she had to get rid off before opting for IVF. So here's what she tried. I also did a small research on ''paleo diet''. So this type of the diet typically includes lean meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Those are foods that in the past could be obtained by hunting and gathering. The aim of a paleo diet is to return to a way of eating that's more like what early humans ate. The diet's reasoning is that the human body is genetically mismatched to the modern diet. Farming changed what people ate and established dairy, grains and legumes as additional staples in the human diet. This relatively late and rapid change in diet. This mismatch is believed to be a contributing factor to the prevalence of obesity, diabetes and heart disease today.
So what my sister ate. Fruits. Vegetables. Nuts and seeds. Lean meats, especially grass-fed animals or wild game. Fish, especially those rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon, mackerel and albacore tuna. Oils from fruits and nuts, such as olive oil or walnut oil.
She avoided: Grains, such as wheat, oats and barley. Legumes, such as beans, lentils, peanuts and peas. Dairy products. Refined sugar. Salt. Potatoes. Highly processed foods in general. Some general results from it: More weight loss. Improved glucose tolerance. Better blood pressure control. Lower triglycerides. Better appetite management.
I believe you could ask your GP if it's appropriate for you.
I didn't think it will take this long, sorry. Than as for the waiting frames. It's really frustrating!! We passed IVF shots with donor egg overseas. Were doing ''guaranteed'' plan. Our donor matching program was accomplished less than in 3 wks. So we could actually start the program. I don't understand why they are making you to wait this long, this hurts..
I'm pretty much on the same boat as you are, going for IVF in 2 weeks. So, I don't have like experience to tell you much but can help you with sharing all the info I gathered over a long time of online digging and forum comments if you want. You'll need to lose weight actually, that pretty much helps in every process of fertility be it normal TTC, medicated one or assisted fertility. Hmm don't go to harsh on yourself though, you'll have to keep the dietary balance to retain your strength. It just reduces the chance of complication if any and also good for a healthy gestation. Now you've got to check with your clinic that if you can be referred for an IVF directly as I don't think IUI really makes sense unless it's some male fertility or barrier issue.
