To eat or not to eat??

I know you are not supposed to have white rice, pasta, bread or potatoes but is it okay to have brown rice, pasta and bread? I also thought pork was a white meat but I recently read it was a red meat. I have been drastically reducing my dairy intake eg using almond milk and ditching cheese but I also recently read that hard cheeses are okay. So much conflicting advice out there 😌

Hi Mizcole. Very much conflicting information on the web and even in medical offices. I do eat whole grain carbs, in moderation. I eat a modified mediterranean diet. Less carbs than what they typically use and absolutely no wine. We are to stay away from sugar and salt, as much as possible. I struggle with that because I love my coffee. I drink coffee with oatmilk. Zevia instead of soda. So far I have lost 80 lbs and my LFTs have normalized. You have to find what works for you, that is healthy. I was in NASH and that has stopped. I am pretty sure I still have NAFLD. If I lose 60 more pounds, I hope I can reverse the NAFLD and the scarring I have. This is a journey that is individual and personal. Don't give up, you can work through this to find a way to live. I recommend the Mediterranean diet, myself, but also find something that is sustainable for you.

agreed on the conflicting information. I eat brown rice and I found a pasta substitite in chick pea pasta. But i eat those in extreme moderation. There is a keto bread I use. Its not great but it interjects a feeling of bread into my diet that I seek to appreciate. Not sure if this is all 100% correct for everyone, as my condition is mild, so please, anyone correct me.

I eat Ezkiel flowerless bread with organic peanut butter. The bread has 15 grams of carbs and 5 grams of protein and is made from sprouted organic grains. Very low glycemic index.

Well there is so much controversy out there, but my instruction comes from my liver dr. I eat some lean pork, some hard cheese, no milk,but I also have diabetes 2 and so have only 50 net carbs. I don't always eat lunch. My dr. Said only eat if hungry.I use olive oil, green vegetables, such as cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, some carrots, chicken, fish. Watch your carbs and exercise.
