Hi,

I was recently diagnosed with NASH. Fibroscan showed an S3 fatty liver still without fibrosis. Since diagnosis, i ve been exercising, dropped 10 kg (around 20 pounds), started watching my diet and quit alcohol.

I am having a difficult time coping with the stress ofthinking about the foreseeable future with nash. I d like to go back to taking escitalopram (something i used a couple of years back).

My doctor thinks its ok, but looking online there does not seem to be any article covering the effects of this drug in people with a fat liver.

Can anyone report own experiences regarding anti depressants worsening nash?

I deeply appreciate your feedback.

Docs are cautious with all drugs with liver disease but Lexapro is typically considered to be one of the safer anti depressants so it is a balance between the modest risk and the mental health challenge. Here is a link with some info
