Hi, I have been following this forum for about 4 months since being diagnosed with a fatty liver (by ultrasound) after doc felt liver by palpation. I am an active 85, don't drink, not overweight, not diabetic, but LOVE sugar and all that white "stuff". Want to thank all who have shared experiences and offered references to reputable reading material. Needless to say, have gone cold turkey on sugar, etc. Following Mediterranean diet, dosing with olive oil and walking 2-3 miles almost every day. Gross fatigue has diminished.

It sounds like you have it under control. The simplest advice, Don't eat anything white, is a useful way to think about it. Good luck. Many of us hope to make it to 85.
Sounds like you are doing most of the right things..Sugar rushes put a big strain on the liver. Fresh fruits and diff types of honey may help with the sugar craving. Keep up the good work!!!! Best of luck.
I am 63 and newly diagnosed. I only have about 10 pounds to lose and hope that it will help. I quit the sugar and white stuff cold turkey, too. I have 9 grandkids and they are my motivation for getting healthier.
