I was told jan 2017 i had nafld and was to lose weight and clean up my diet.I then has a fibroscan just before christmas 2018,they never got back to me with results so my doctor got them and said my nafld was not that bad and just keep loseing weight.I then had an endoscopy 3 days ago to look for varacies. The person doing the endoscopy done the fibroscan and is looking after my liver. He said just before the endoscopy i had suspected liver cirrhosis,i was shocked then was sedated. After i woke up the nurse told me i had no varacies,i was told to wait for another outpatient visit in the future. What does he mean suspected surely the fibroscan could tell him and my doctor said it was just nafld.I am at my wits end and so stressed.

You should be able to just ask them for the results of the FibroScan or write them for a copy of the report. You own that information.

Wow that had to be scary, I would definitely tell my regular doctor what the other doctor said get the results of my scan in my hands and go to a third doctor for clarification since those two are at way different ends of the spectrum. While you're waiting eat healthy, and clean. There's lots of information here on what and what not to eat. Please let us know what you find out.

I recently had two blood work orders in my hand from two different doctors and the lab took both even though they were the same test. I got two different results!! I might try a different laboratory next time and I'm still searching for doctors that care about our condition that they seem to blow off. Best of luck to you and to us all.
