Where are the boundaries?

Hi,

This is best asked to a doctor but I want the communities understanding. With regards to liver disease it appears that the progression from the different stages is not clear. Is it the case that one day your liver decided ok now I become cirrhotic? And now I become decompensated. Or let me reverse myself? The liver appear to be an organ in flux.

It is a progressive disease but the liver is always trying to heal and things you eat and other processes are always killing liver cells so it isn't a straight line process but basically it is the sum of how those opposites turn out each day. The problem is that damage accumulates so how kind you are to your liver each day matters
