ok need some real sound advice here as I am considering a move to Ohio to be near The Cleveland Clinic as that my current care has no idea on this issue (they are just getting to a endoscopy on a diagnosis of cirrohsis made in 2015). The Veterans Clinic in El Paso. My current issues are Cirrohsis, varices in the esophagus and the newest one in on the spleen, swollen liver and spleen, very low blood count at 36 Doctor says not to worry about it until it hits 20. HE, slow to clot blood had bloody nose for 7 hours once. Is this End Stage liver disease? If so how long do I have left. I know most say it depends but would like a ball park figure. Last MELD Gastro Doc said 12 I did a online at 17. would really like to know the above info as Amove to Ohio I think will provide me with far better care that I can get in El Paso Texas.

Hi utep99
I'm sure you realize that we are not doctors so we can't really interpret your results from that perspective, but a few observations. I'm wondering if you are seeing a hepatologist. You have a lot of symptoms that are certainly of concern but there are some fine hepatologists in Texas. You may not have to go as far as Ohio but you may have other reasons for that. Cleveland Clinic is certainly a quality center but from your description, you should be evaluated for a transplant. The best person to contact is Mariel Carr. She really has the data on liver treatment centers Here is a link

The questions you are asking require careful testing so it is worth being sure you have had a diagnostic workup. It isn't clear if you have really had that from your comments. Not much of an answer to your questions but you really do need expert help which is available in Texas.
