I've had LH facial palsy for a week the neurologist says to wait to see recovery but is there anything I should be doing in the meantime.

I was diagnosed with a brain cavernoma 3 weeks ago. The cavernoma has now bled out but last week I was effected by LH facial palsy. Does anybody have experience of palsy caused by brain haemorrhage

I've been trying to find someone else with a similar experience to answer you but no luck so far. If you are concerned then it would be best to pursue it further with your neurologist because they have experience of your individual case. Are things improving since you posted here?

I've been looking for someone with a similar experience as we discovered today my partner has a bleed within a cavernoma and he has had Bell's Palsy for 5 weeks now. How are you doing now?

Hi, I have had a brain haemorrhage due to a cavernoma bleed in February and which caused RH facial palsy. I was in hospital for 3 days and I could not close my eye at the time. The facial palsy did recover well in the last 4 months (with help of exercising my face with facial expressions), however I now have tightness in my right cheek, which makes my mouth uneven and my full smile is not completely back yet. When I saw the neurologist 3 weeks after my bleed, I actually expressed concern about my facial palsy as I had read online that there is a certain time window in which action can be undertaken to recover or improve the facial nerves. He referred me to the facial palsy clinic, which I visited recently. They were extremely helpful and I will receive a physiotherapy follow up. They have also referred me to the FPUK and I am glad to have found you here as it is so very rare what we have. Please also check out Cavernoma Alliance UK (CAUK) as they have a Facebook group for members, which is very helpful too. I hope you and CuriousNCuriouser's partner are doing much better. Wishing you well in your recovery. Do let me know if you have any further questions as I have been through a lot in the last 4 months, but kept myself positive in spirit :) x
