hi,

my daughters belly is huge and hard but doesn’t seem to be that painful - is this the movicol or is it a blockage or something else?

Thanks in advance!

Dear Eluecd , has your daughter been checked by a GP? Bloating is very common when on macrogol laxatives. They work by delivering the water they are mixed with to the bowel. This means that there can be an awful lot of fluid sloshing around in the bowel, waiting to be /or having been absorbed by the poo. The bowel is around 10 metres long. If your daughter has been on movicol for over two weeks, your GP might also introduce a stimulant laxative to encourage the bowel to squeeze and move all this along.
