13 year old in agony

Hi all. I’m a new member to the group and would really appreciate any advice/thoughts you can provide. 😌 My daughter is suffering from faecal impaction and is in so much pain. She is a long term user of Laxido (around 3 years now) and has been on an increased dosage to try to clear the impaction. Increased dosage started 7 days ago (now up to 12 sachets per day) but not making much difference and in so much pain. I give her paracetamol but doesn’t seem to help. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Add a stimulant to the regime. Also how much water is she drinking on top of the laxatives?

Thanks for the responses. Doc has now given Senna as stimulant - started this last night. She prob drinks about 2 litres on top of laxatives which are dissolved in one litre of water, but isn’t managing this every day. She has been in bed for past week as her blood pressure drops when she sits or stands (she kept passing out). Will try to encourage her to drink even more. 🙂

Hi, I'm a new member too. I have just been going through the same thing with my 12 yo. I noticed you said she had been on Laxido for 3 years, is she on the adult dose? It my son about 3 weeks to clear out, he also had to have a trip into Paeds for an enema. Good luck, hope she is ok x

Thanks. She is still on paediatric sachets of Laxido. I need to phone docs tomorrow as she is really weak and not able to get out of bed due to pain and also not eating. Will mention the sachet strength to them. I can see her ending up having to get an enema. Hope your son is doing OK now. Xx

I hope not, the enema had traumatized my son so much. Hopefully if you get her on the adult dose it will make a big difference 🤞🤞.
