Potty Training my 3.5year old! Witholding/How many times a day should she urinate? Anxious Mum! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hi all,

My LG is 3.5 years old we started and stopped potty training a few times before we seemed to get anywhere.

She’s been out of pull ups/nappies during the day now for about 6 weeks now and this time she just seemed to get it.

However we seem to have gone from her telling us she needs to go regularly to her not telling us/or the ladies in her pre-school room that she needs the toilet resulting in us having to prompt her (which sometimes she’ll be adament she doesn’t need the toilet) to go or she will hold it in all day until bathtime (we’ve had the odd accident but nothing major)

I know its still early days but should we prompt her or should we just leave her to it and basically let her hold it in?

Also how many times a day should she be urinating?

We are on a good day averageing about 3/4 wee’s a day.

Thanks in advance!!!

I would encourage regular toilet sits after every meal.

hi! Not an expert on this at all but I was once told that 5-8 wees a day is normal. I would suggest following her lead to keep things stress free and just focus on making sure she drinks enough. What goes in must come out! X
