Hi my 9year old went through the disinpaction regime on movical and a small end dose of lactulose. Having had no bowel movement for 8 days she is now cleared out however this happened Wednesday and I’m aware of the need to start the Maintenance right away. So yesterday still have her 2 sachets and today 1 sachet but she still got diarrhoea. Should I keep giving sachets or when do I start the maintenance? Many thanks

Did you reach watery stools with no lumps consistently for 3 days before you started reducing the doses down extremely slowly until you found a suitable maintenance dose to remain on?

She literally spent 4 hours on the toilet constantly going. Had about 8 bowel movements yesterday all a mixture of water and fluffy bits and today been 6 times and has abdominal cramps. Still given her 3 sachets today but it’s giving her such bad pains?

You really need to stick to the maximum dose until you reach watery stools with no lumps consistently for days, don't be in a rush to reduce too quickly, you will only end up back to square one again vert quickly.
