Hi, I’m extremely worried about my granddaughter and her ability to withhold her poo.
She’s been doing this for at least 9 months.
She’s been on 6/8 movical and 6 ml of picosulphate for 9 weeks and still manages to withhold daily. We believe she’s impacted which is why her dosage is so high. I support my daughter as much as possible but can see she is worrying herself sick with this.
My granddaughter was born 12 weeks early and struggled with constipation regularly and would scream in pain when passing stools.
Shes becoming an anxious toddler and doesn’t want to leave the security of her home and mum and I’m so worried about she will cope with school.
It’s so frustrating feeling I can’t help either of them to move forward and find a solution to this problem.
Any ideas please?

Lots of fibre, plenty fluids, get her to relax on the toilet, play music play a poo game, get a sticker/reward chart to help motovate her, danceing/ light exercise. Theirs a bowel massage she can do. Lots of fluid and fibre. Look for the signs like wiggling and clenching bum cheeks. Prune juice, i'll be trying next. Dulcasoft dose work. Tip toeing. We have a toilet routine fidget toy/ play music to hel her relax. Hope this helps
