My lovely 5 year old daughter needs to start the disimpaction routine and I'm so nervous about it. I'm holding on to nearer the Easter holidays. Can anyone tell me how long after the beginning of the routine does the real 'flow' start? I don't want this to happen whilst she's at school, she's already emotional about poos. Supportive comments only please, I know this is going to be a challenging road, I'm ready to give her all the support she needs.
Thanks!

I would wait until the Easter holidays, you could start the Friday they break up. As you increase the doses you will start to hopefully see some movement, however, if after a week things arent progressing you need to request a stimulant such as senna to add to the regime.
I'd start a day before the Easter hols, as the the first day is the lowest dose, or if it's possible take her out of school a few days early to get started, I'd also recommend Pull Ups or something similar so you can still go out for short periods of time without worrying about accidents, also have plenty of the Movicol ready so you don't run out, every child is different, we had the runny stuff quite quickly, good luck 🦋
There's lots of good advice here. We had lotsof periodsof disimpaction with our son. We decided not to wait until the holidays each time as he needed a holiday and a break from it all as much as the school. I know it's different this year. We keep him at home when things are rough and have plenty of home learning. That way, we've kept school positive. The pull ups help on the worst days. Lots of cuddles, nappy cream to stop her bottom getting sore too. Good luck xx
