Hi there, can anyone tell me how long an average disimpactation is? We are over a week and there is still a lot coming out....I just can't see any end in sight yet and wonder if we are doing something wrong??

Every child is different, keep going until you get 3 days of nothing but rusty coloured water, then reduce the sachets slowly until you get 1 or 2 soft bowel movements per day and stay on that number of sachets. My son took a month! Best wishes 🦋

We were very lucky and did it during the first lockdown, my sons school was closed and I was able to work partly from home, if we had to go out my son would wear pull ups (age 8 - 15) the ones you would use at nighttime and the Movicol can be mixed in advance for the day if needed. If that's not an option then I'd recommend for example starting just before the Easter hols as the first few days whilst you're building up the number of sachets isn't too bad, then be prepared to stay off school/work for a few days after the Easter hols if needed. I think my son took a little longer than the average, but it's really important to not stop it too early. Best wishes 🦋

Oh wow thank you, I think we have a while to go by the seems of it as we are still getting a lot out each day and certainly no rust water yet. Xx
