My 18 month old suffers with really bad constipation. Although she was given Movicol large bottle. It never did anything. I'm reluctant taking her back to the G.P because I was told that they wouldn't give her anything else. She passes every 4-5 days and she does manage to get it out. The problem is we spend hours with the discomfort and she shouldn't be like this. Surely it's not normal? Can't I buy something over the counter a little stronger to ease this?

How much movicol are they currently on? Movicol will draw water into the bowels so a good liquid intake is key. You may find adding a stimulant to the regime will help such a senna.
