Issues with movicol and soiling four year old!

I really need some help! My four year old has been on and off suffering with constipation since she was 2 1/2 (basically from potty training). She has been on movicol for 18months now and we seem to have short periods of no soiling and a formed poo every day to her soiling multiple times a day even with a formed poo. She’s now in school and I’m finding it really hard to mange her. She gets really defensive with it when I suggest she goes to the toilet as she is soiled sometimes will then go others she won’t. I feel some of it is holding as a cause as her diet is great and she drinks a lot. We’ve tried everything from reward charts, toileting regimes upping fluids etc! I’m waiting for bladder and bowel and have spoken to several gps who have given mixed messages! We tried reducing movicol to 1/2 sachet a day which worked for a few days before she started school but then she was struggling to go so we increased to 2. This got her going but since we have had the soiling again! Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Have you disimpacted her?

Yes a couple of times in the past this has been on going even with disimpacting

Did you get to rusty water looking poo when disimpacting before reducing the doses down very slowly. Have you added a stimulant to the regime, this will help with the withholding. I would also arrange for a Health Plan to be put in place at the school to include regular toilet sitting and the assistance of cleaning/changing your daughter should the need arise.
