Encourage a child to go to the toilet

Please could any one give me advice my girl of 7 yrs has been on movicol for a couple years then a couple of months ago changed to Dulcolax and has been going ok ,then out of the blue our nurse advised us to stop and try without any well its gone down hill not been at all for 5 days now ,so put back on Dulcolax and movicol and still not been !!She has been a different child very vocal but has said she scared. tried different things put still not happened

I guess all you can do it up the Movicol until you get a decent poo then go from there.

I understand that the nurse probably doesn’t want her to become dependent on laxatives but to tell you to stop cold turkey I would say is unwise.

Has she got a decent toilet routine?
