Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has successfully disimpacted their little one when their only symptom has been wet accidents. My daughter poos every other day and it’s large and very sticky. I’ve been told to give this a go incase there’s any fecal blockage pushing on the bladder. I’m hoping this may be a cure but I’d like to know if anyone has done it and it’s worked. I don’t want to add more problems by causing poo accidents as well!

Disimpaction for daytime wetting
We have never disimpacted but certainly constipation has impacted on day time wetting. In fact has quite a clear correlation. Initially I didn't think we had a constipation issue as we had a bowel motion without difficulty. However when we took laxatives the wees lessened in frequency and we had less accidents. Have a look at the Bristol stool chart. I think we should be aiming for 5/6. Although it is easy to overshoot to 7. Unfortunately when you start to sort out the bowels accidents can happen at the start. But quite quickly settle down. Good luck. X
Yes, this is how my 3.5 yo son was initially diagnosed with constipation/stool withholding and I didn't even know. After being fully trained for 9 months, my son started daily daytime wetting. Bowel movements were never easy for us, but he was producing 1 bowel movement a day. As soon as we learned that he was constipated and started on laxatives, his wetting has completely resolved. However, now we are dealing with a bigger problem of stool withholding.
