My son turned 5 yesterday, he suffered from constipation since he was 2 and had to have a disimpaction regime last September and is currently on 1 sachet of laxative every other day, he had been using the toilet for poos since he finished his disimpaction, the consistency of the poos seem fine, but 2 weeks ago he decided to start pooing in his pants and not using the toilet for poos (still goes for wees)
I'm at a loss for what to do, he isn't afraid of the toilet he just says he can't be bothered to sit and wait to do a poo on the toilet. We've tried taking away his access to his iPad and TV.
I understand he is off kilter because he's used to the schedule of school, and going at break time.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Kate

Poor lad is just fed up being stuck at home, my granddaughter is the same, she was getting so upset about accidents, but was to engrossed with tick tocks and youtubes to get to the toilet.
She started complaining about having a sore tummy and wanted to go back to bed most mornings, just to hide under her covers giggling at her ipad.
It didn't take me long to work out she was just fooling me into letting her wear her night nappies all day, but I just let it slide, I'm too afraid of this whole isolation time just becoming a battle of wills, if she wants to pee herself all day so be it. I can't do any of the normal activities that motivate her to stay dry during the day when everywhere is shut.
Eventually I sat her down and gave her the choice of nappies just now but knickers for when she goes back to school, or back to drynites, and she wanted the nappies, so I just hope she keeps her end if the deal.
Hi ,I would Never use a punishment for pooing it just had a massive negative effect ,I know this to my cost with my first child when I didn't understand as I did with my next 3 children .No matter how exasperating it is just focus on rewarding when she doesn't poo and when she does just say never mind accidents happen and clean it up with a smile .This stops her anxiety and yours too ,she may need a bit more movacol /senna to help and a bought lots of black knickers as they are easy to wash out ,hope this helps xxxx
