Constipated 22 month old help!!

My 22 month old daughter has had constipation for over a year! Drs tell me to keep giving her lactulose but it’s not really helping! After afew days I literally have to squeeze her into the squat position and pull the poo out? She screams when she needs to go and it’s just not nice for her or me ??

Hi I have a 22 month old daughter who also withholds and has done since about eight months! I am constantly thinking about it and what's going to help or trigger her withholding and consequently constipation.

She's also been on lactulose for about a year

I give her about a teaspoon and a half with breakfast and tea and this is softening her poos a little. I've found when she needs to poo if I leave the room and say 'mummy's just going to do some washing ect' she sometimes does a poo by herself, I know she has a lot of anxiety about it. I think being so young there is still time to reverse this.

Also if she hasn't been for a few days, when I see her trying to hold on I go over and put my fist between her knees so she can't squeeze them together. Lots of blowing too when she's trying, plenty of trips to the park to run around and dancing at home to get them bowels moving.

Probably all stuff you've heard but thought I'd share as I know how hard it can be. Lots of hugs for you and hope everything improves.
