Botox injections into bladder

We went to a new consultant and he has suggested Botox injections into my daughters bladder under general anaesthetic to help relax it so bladder can fill normally as she has an over active bladder.has anyone any experience with this procedure?...and if so did it help with decreasing accidents?.I feel a tad on the anxious side about the thought of her having to undergo a general anaesthetic every 6 months as that's as long as Botox injections would last.any thoughts?

Good morning we are exactly the same as you. My daughter is 7 and have spent several years going through different meds etc and now we are on the wait list for the Botox. We were given a choice of another stronger med with more side effects or trying botox. We have got to the point where are lives revolve around where the nearest toilet is so we are grateful for anything that could help her without having side effects like we have gone through. I believe it is only a short procedure so she won’t be out for long and our consultant has told us that we have play it by ear as to how often she will need the treatment. Some I believe have gone 12 months without needing another dose and some have not needed any further treatment.

When weighing up the options we chose the Botox I was same as you and dubious of the GA’s but on the whole I think it is the best option for us xx

I know exactly what you mean when you say her /our world revolves around the loo,it really is so all encompassing.she has had a lot of meds too with various side effects and the meds that just seemed to do nothing.we are at breaking point about this whole situation if I'm honest.....4 years of wee talk would do that to you I suppose!!.let's hope the Botox works for them.
