Just thought I'd give an update on our situation. Our daughter is nine and been suffering with constipation for the last six years. Over the last year it was the UTIS that became the biggest issue and why we were referred again. They have subsequently eased and two scans thankfully came back clear. Two weeks ago she had to take six capsules prior to an X-ray to track her colon. This meant a whole week with no laxatives. This has had disastrous results, tummy aches, couldn't sit down comfortably, struggling to do anything at school and not being able to eat. We haven't had the official results but could see that many of the tiny pieces of plastic from the capsules were still in her bowel,. I started a disimpaction but for the first time ever had to resort to a suppository. The results were spectacular but it did the trick. I'm assuming she has a very slow moving bowel but will update you when we hear.
