After reading so much bad stuff about movicol ..... after 4 years of our son being on it ...... we got it down to half a sachet every 2 days and 2.5ml senna on the alternate days.
My son is 6 years old, has been taking Senna (and Movicol) for about a year, used to take 5ml until recently, when we doubled the dose. He doesn’t poo every day despite all the medication, has a few smears in his undies, and occasionally wets the bed at night - when that happens, I wonder if he got too cold during the night, or whether he is constipated again and the poo is pressing on the bladder.
Not sure if it’s the Senna, but now you’ve mention it, I’ll keep it in my mind. He did pee himself once last week in the school playground, and that was really strange. Maybe you’re on to something.
When we started Sennokot my son used to have explosive poos. If he wouldn’t go in the morning, usually he would have this explosive poo in his pants in the afternoon, he’d drop to the ground and clench and end up with a big mess in his pants. Anyway, now that doesn’t happen. I thought senna was causing some gas buildup.
