My 10 yr old son has been diagnosed with chronic constipation and an impacted bowl. He has been put on some very strong laxatives over the next few days to clear out his system. I hate giving him this medication, does any know of any particular foods that would help the situation in a more natural way? He has also been referred to a constipation clinic, what will they do?
Any advice or tips would be gratefully received

So I am trying flaxseed. Golden flaxseed. Should be where all the nuts and seeds are in your local supermarket. Sprinkle on cereal, yoghurt etc... I hide my daughter's on her weetabix or cheerios!! Broccoli and raspberries are high in fibre. My daughter is on 4 Movicol a day. Sometimes medication is the only option. X
