our 7 year old has possible epilepsy-the process of diagnosis is proving to be lengthy but that’s looking like the most likely outcome.
The paediatrician has recommended we have a camera or alarm of some type for potential night seizures so that she can go back to her own bedroom.
Has anyone found or used a good alarm? There are so many, obviously we want to minimise false alarms but catch seizures if we’re not present. Any advice or review would be great.

The Nightwatch armband from Holland was the one we went for as my grandson was 4 when diagnosed it is expensive though. We also live in Britain but to have it shipped in was difficult because of new Brexit regulations. I’m not sure if it still stands.
We also just purchased a week ago a second wearable as a back up, the embrace 2 for the wrist in the UK as he is older now and it can be worn from 6 yrs old. We are yet to try it so fingers crossed.
It’s a worry for parents that their child may have seizures during the night.
We can't make recommendations for specific alarms for people but we have information on our website about different mobile seizure alarms and apps that might be useful for people with epilepsy. We list stockists for different types of alarms and information on how to choose one. Before buying it would be best to check with the supplier that the alarms would be suitable. And maybe talk to your daughter's epilepsy consultant or nurse.
We are also often asked for feedback about alarms and monitors, but it is rare that people tell us about their experiences with these products. If you are looking for feedback about different products you might be able to ask others through our talk and support, Discord , Facebook , twitter
