New symtoms

Hi I've posted a few weeks ago and got some great advice and have asked the neurology department for a prolong eeg. As I begun to have more moments of de ja vu and noticble jerk movement which nautally is making me anxious. I like many others living with epilpesy brings such emotional turmoil as the impact it can have to your day to day life.

I am reaching out as the neurologist as shared a preliminary view that my new worries do not seem to be signs related to my epilpesy.

So any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Since August I have begun to notice sudden jerks around different parts of my body. Initially they were subtle and only I would notice the small Movement

However, Now 3 months later, these jerk movements are daily, varying in intensity and can be seen by others.

Am I being anxious and this is maybe a contributing reason, though i dont ffeel overwhelming anxious? Or is there any other thoughts whether these are myoclonic siezures or another health need

Thanks for your thoughts and advice

I hope you hear from others on this platform, as sharing information and experiences can be a good idea.

We aren’t medically trained, so we can’t say whether your symptoms are seizures or something else unrelated to your epilepsy. If your neurologist doesn’t think these symptoms are seizure related, it may be a good idea to ask them what they think could be the cause. If they aren’t sure, ask what tests or diagnostic procedures they are going to do in order to find out.

Can I just check you also know about our other services?

We have our Talk and Support groups (epilepsy.org.uk/support-for-you/talk-and-support-virtual-groups) and befriending service (epilepsy.org.uk/support-for-you/epilepsy-befriending).

We also have a membership offer which is designed to help people stay up to date with all the latest epilepsy news, views and research: epilepsy.org.uk/involved/join

Finally, if you think it may be helpful to speak to one of our advisers in more detail you can contact us by live chat or the Epilepsy Action Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050. Our helpline is open Monday to Friday 8.30am until 5.00pm and Saturday 10.00am until 4.00pm: epilepsy.org.uk/support-for-you/the-epilepsy-action-helpline
