Hi, I only started having seizures 2 years ago (in my late 30s), and was put on Levetiracetam. I still had focal seizures so the dose kept being put up, and I'm now on 3000mg total a day of Levetiracetam. I've noticed in the past year I have lost a lot of hair. I know this can be a side effect and wanted to know what can be done - has anyone experienced this with Levetiracetam and are there any particular treatments / products that have helped? Thanks!

Hair loss and Levetiracetam?
I am also on Levetiracetam 2gram BD , along with Lamictal then verapamil for cluster headaches. My hair thinned so badly the last few years also. I put it down to a combo of the meds but did read Levetiracetam can cause thinning. I take hair supplements from Hair Burst or any other Vitamin company. I avoid straightening my hair if possible and let it dry naturally. It isn't as thin as it was and parts have filled out. Thankfully my hair grows quickly which takes away from the thin look. Hope these tips help xx
I’ve been on epilepsy meds for over 40 years changed from Dilantin (due to bad long-term effects) to Levetriciam 16 years ago I still have long thick hair and have got to say hair loss is not a side effect I have noticed on this drug.
You mentioned that the hair loss started in the last year, did you have Covid? I had a ton of hair loss but it started after I had Covid
