I seem to be having these regular. It starts with a cold tingly feeling all down my right side. Then I'll feel sick. A pounding in my right ear and also a strange smell & taste. After its eased, I find i get really tired and have the odd headache. Right side of brain/head feels heavy too. Does anyone know what is actually happening in the brain when these happen?
I rang the hospital on tuesday 24th july to speak to epilepsy nurse, usually ringing back the same day but still no call back.
This sounds exactly what my son has he is 9
He has been diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy. He has all mix symptoms when seizures also tonic clonic .
The symptoms above the se as yourself the consultant said he can’t confirm exactly if its a seizure. I find it really frustrating as i think it’s obvious is .

Hi thank you for replying.I also have mesial temporal sclerosis apparently and also the hippocampus is smaller on one side. I've had no explanation as to what could have caused this damage and no idea of the type of epilepsy I was diagnosed with 2 years ago. In that time ive had 3 seizures, each of which i usually wake up hours later.
It is frustrating as you say. I was ok until april 2022 when medication was increased after waking up in resus. 1 seizure since march 2021 and neuro increased mg. Even the epilepsy nurse didnt see the point in the increase due to seizure frequency.
Have been told that epilepsy is not a neurologists speciality hence patients are put under the care of an epilepsy nurse.
