Medication help

I was diagnosed with Epilepsy in November 2020 as the age of 45. I am currently taking lamotrigine, increasing by 25mg every 2 week to the ‘highest dose I can tolerate’ I asked the epilepsy nurse what this means. How will I know if I am tolerating them? She says I will just know. Does anybody else have any experience if this? What symptoms am I looking out for? I have other issues and would not want to confuse the two. Thanks

Here is the information about lamotrigine and the usual dose people take. Some people do have problems with side-effects of epilepsy medicines. My guess is that your nurse means if the side-effects outweigh any benefits you might be getting in terms of seizure control, then that would be too high a dose.Juggling what might be a symptom of your epilepsy, your lamotrigine or your other issues will not be an easy task. But hopefully the information I have linked you to will give you a bit of a guideline about the lamotrigine anyway.

Kind regards
