Benefits of surrendering license?

Having been petit mal seizure free for over 10 years I recently has several in my sleep one night due to a virus and was taken to hospital. I haven't had another since then but have been informed the doctor wishes to review my medication. Would it be more beneficial for me to surrender my driving license rather than have it taken from me? Thanks

I’m really sorry to hear you recently restarted seizures, I had my first for 7 years in September. If you are in the UK it’s your responsibility to inform the DVLA you can check the details of the process on their website.

The good news is that if your seizures are only at night the rules aren’t quite so tough and you may be able to start driving again more quickly,

I know how much of a shock this must be, good luck!
